Homemade Hungarian Cake, Ready-made mix | 1kg
Hungarian kurtosz or Slovak trdelniki is a traditional sweet cake in the shape of a cylinder. The dough is wrapped around a tin, then spread with butter and coated with sugar, cinnamon and optimally finely chopped nuts. You don’t need a special mould to bake the cakes, you can use a glass bottle or a wooden rolling pin, which is wrapped in aluminium foil. Cut the thinly rolled out dough into strips and overlap them.
Ingredients: Wheat flour, sugar, egg powder, whey powder (from milk), wheat gluten, emulsifier: E471, salt, flour treatment agent, ascorbic acid, flavouring. The product may contain eggs and soya.
Nutritional value per 100g of mix: energy value 1581kJ/374kcal, fat 4.5g, including saturated fatty acids 2.2g, carbohydrates 70g, including sugars 12g, fibre 1.8g, protein 13g, salt 0.68g.
Method of preparation:
Making: mix the ingredients (about 5min on slow speed and 8min on medium speed) with a hook-type mixer until smooth. Allow the dough to rise for 50-60 minutes. After this time, process further. Bake the shaped cakes at 175°C for approx. 15 minutes.
